Whatsapp, Facebook told to file affidavits

.WhatsAppg and Facebook
today told the Supreme Court
they were sharing only a few types of users’ data between them and not With any third party, as alleged by two Students who have challenged WhatsApp privacy policy. A five-judge Constltution 

Bench asked the two Compaqnies to file an affidavit to this effect after senior counsel

that the companies were sharing only the names, phone number, device registration number and where
the user last viewed his/her WhatsApp message 

GiVing four Weeks to file affidavit, the Bench posted the matter for November 28 . when it Will decide Whether to pass any injunction order as  demanded by the petitioners. This was the first time the Bench took up the WhatsApp case after the recent ninejudge Constitution Bench verdict that declared right to privacy a fundamental right.
